July 4 will mark the shutdown of Primm Valley Casino Resorts' last casino hotel in Nevada, closing 624 rooms and suites and leaving Primm without an operating casino resort.
344 workers were told their jobs will end, and parent company Affinity Gaming said employees in company housing must move out by July 6 while rent charges stop on May 15.
The closure follows a staggered retreat: Whiskey Pete's shut in December 2024, and Buffalo Bill's Resort & Casino was reduced to special events in July 2025.
UNLV experts said Primm's long decline was driven by Southern California tribal casinos, broader Las Vegas competition, and a COVID-era drop in business that never recovered.
