A commuter train traveling between Razumnoye and Tomarovka derailed in Belgorod region after about two meters of track were found missing, leaving one woman hospitalized.
15 people were on board when the driver applied emergency braking but could not stop half of a railcar from leaving the tracks, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
The injured passenger suffered a leg laceration and back bruising, while the derailment occurred in Yakovlevsky district near Russia's border with Ukraine.
The incident came as Ukraine kept striking Russian infrastructure, including reported attacks in Volna near the Kerch Bridge and in Bashkortostan.
