Baker City officials said Rally Networks has begun work on broadband lines linking Baker City and Huntington, with completion targeted for early fall 2026.
Oregon Broadband Office funding is backing the project, which was awarded in summer 2025 and will extend 100% fiber along the Highway 30 corridor to every serviceable location.
Residential customers in the build area are slated to get symmetrical speeds of up to 8 GIGs, along with managed Wi-Fi, cybersecurity options and VOIP service.
The expansion adds to Rally Networks' earlier fiber investments in Baker City and Halfway, extending urban-level broadband deeper into rural Baker County.
