Court papers filed May 12 show Aaron Carter’s family reached a confidential settlement with Amen Clinics and psychiatrist Dr. John Faber over claims tied to the singer’s 2022 overdose death at age 34.
The filing says the payout is within the range of damages the family could have won at trial against the clinic—less than $325,000—and the defendants admitted no wrongdoing.
Carter’s former fiancée sued on behalf of their 4-year-old son, alleging doctors overprescribed Xanax and pharmacies filled the prescriptions without checking for abuse.
Amen Clinics and the other defendants argue Xanax did not cause Carter to lose consciousness, saying his death stemmed from inhaling difluoroethane from compressed-air canisters.
Dentist Jason Mirabile, Walgreens and Santa Monica Medical Plaza Pharmacy have not settled and are still scheduled to go to trial in October.
