Seattle police on Wednesday released photos of a man sought in the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old University of Washington student at Nordheim Court off-campus apartments.
Detectives said the suspect is believed to be 25 to 30, about 5-foot-5, slim, with black hair and a beard; the student was attacked in a laundry room Sunday night, and police asked for tips at 206-233-5000.
Residents said the laundry-room door had been broken for months, raising security questions at Nordheim Court, which UW said is managed by Greystar under a public-private partnership.
UW President Robert Jones and Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson highlighted the victim as a transgender woman and said support is being directed to affected students and LGBTQIA+ community members as fear spreads on and around campus.
