Margaret Cho said she passed on a pilot role in HBO Max's 2025 series "Heated Rivalry" because she feared being detained by ICE while traveling to Canada for filming.
Cho told the "I Never Liked You" podcast that her outspoken criticism of President Donald Trump and ICE made her believe crossing the border could put her in detention.
The comedian said she now watches the hockey romance series, has hosted rewatch parties, and regrets missing the part, though she added she may try to join season 2.
Cho has long been a Trump critic; in March she also recalled repeatedly declining invitations to compete on "The Apprentice" despite being told Trump was a fan of her comedy.
