William Paul said on X that he was drunk, apologized for remarks that "don’t represent who I really am," and said he was seeking help for a drinking problem.
NOTUS reported the senator’s son confronted Rep. Mike Lawler at a downtown Washington restaurant Tuesday, blaming "you Jews" over efforts to unseat Rep. Thomas Massie and continuing the exchange for several minutes.
Lawler, a New York Republican in a swing district, told Paul he was not Jewish; the confrontation still escalated, with Paul allegedly calling Jews "anti-American" and jabbing a finger in the congressman’s face.
Massie’s primary has become a flashpoint inside the GOP, with the Kentucky libertarian accusing AIPAC and Donald Trump of trying to oust him over his opposition to aid for Israel and other party priorities.
