15 new markets will get Netflix’s ad-supported plan, extending the offering beyond its existing 10-country footprint as the streamer pressed advertisers for bigger commitments at its New York upfront.
250 million monthly active viewers now use Netflix globally, the company said; more than 60% of new sign-ups choose the ad plan and over 80% of ad-tier members log in weekly.
40 U.S. scripted series are on the upcoming slate, including 27 returning shows, as Netflix paired ad-growth claims with star-heavy previews for titles such as “Office Romance,” “Enola Holmes” and “East of Eden.”
2027 will also bring Netflix’s stream of the FIFA Women’s World Cup from Brazil, adding to a sports push that already includes NFL programming and the newly announced Westminster Dog Show.
