Oakland County Lifts Water Restrictions After Main Replacement, but Boil Advisory May Last Into Weekend

Oakland County lifted water restrictions for all communities hit by the major main break after water began flowing through the newly replaced line.
County leaders said the repair restored enough service to end usage limits, but a boil water advisory remains in effect while testing continues over the next few days.
Chris Barnett, Orion Township's supervisor, said the advisory will likely last into the weekend, and residents may still see temporary discoloration or sediment in their water.
Water distribution centers remain open at Wildwood Amphitheater in Orion Township, Auburn Hills Department of Public Works, and Atwater Park in Lake Orion.
