42-Inch Water Main Burst Keeps 4 Oakland County Communities Under Boil Advisory

  • Four Oakland County communities—Orion Township, Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills and Oakland Township—remain under a boil water advisory after a 42-inch main burst on May 10.
  • GLWA replaced the pipe on May 11, but system flushing is expected to last until Thursday and water testing may not finish until Sunday or Monday next week.
  • Residents in Orion Township, Lake Orion, Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills are also barred from nonessential water use, including watering lawns, washing cars, running dishwashers and using washing machines.
