30% of likely voters backed incumbent Karen Bass in a May 13 Emerson College/Inside California Politics poll, up from 20% in March and putting her ahead of Spencer Pratt at 22% and Nithya Raman at 19%.
16% of voters remained undecided, down sharply from 51% in March, signaling the June 2 election is crystallizing as Bass, Pratt and Raman pull away from the rest of the field.
12 percentage points marked the biggest gain in the survey for Pratt, who rose from 10%, while Raman also advanced strongly from 9%; Adam Miller trailed at 7% and Rae Chen Huang at 4%.
June 2 is the first-round voting date, and if no candidate wins a majority, the top two finishers will move to a November runoff.
As polls tighten, will voters prioritize a candidate's persona over their detailed plans for the city's future?
