Chelsea Handler said on Howie Mandel’s podcast that dating apps and social media have left many straight men unwilling to commit, making modern dating especially frustrating for successful women.
Swipe culture lets men cycle through “50 women a day,” she said, eroding the effort people once made to build relationships and leaving many accomplished women saying “there’s no men out there.”
Handler framed the complaint as broader than her own experience, saying she first tried to help women meet quality men before concluding the same problem keeps surfacing across her circle.
The 51-year-old comedian said she is not seeking exclusivity herself, describing her current life as “dabbling in different areas” and saying she does not like being tethered to one person.
Her remarks come after her 2022 split from Jo Koy, a relationship she once said restored her faith in men before she later concluded he was “not my person.”
Is Chelsea Handler’s critique of dating culture undermined by her own preference for casual relationships?
