October will bring ARC Raiders' next major patch, "Frozen Trail," the biggest since launch, with a new map, new ARC enemies, expanded progression and more story about ARC's origins.
The studio said it is abandoning monthly major updates because that pace proved unsustainable and limited how transformative updates could be, especially for progression, economy balance, fair play and anti-cheat work.
Day-to-day live service support will continue between the two annual major releases, including balance fixes, bug fixes, store updates and player events.
Next week, a new level-25 Trader will arrive for late-game players, letting them exchange high-value items for rotating rewards, extra stash space and an Expedition Vault that carries up to 5 items across Expeditions.
Embark framed the slower cadence as part of a longer-term plan to make ARC Raiders' systems, narrative and world evolve together rather than through smaller monthly drops.
