Xavier Becerra Leads California Governor Primary Poll at 19% as Karen Bass Tops LA Mayor Race at 30%

Becerra moved into first place in Emerson’s California governor primary poll with 19%, after gaining 9 points since mid-April; Steve Hilton and Tom Steyer were tied at 17%, with 12% undecided.
Democratic voters drove that rise, making Becerra their top choice at 31%, though his lead remains soft: only 52% of his backers say they will definitely stick with him.
