A two-minute scene in The Boys episode 7 finally brought Gen V's Marie Moreau and Jordan Li onscreen, only for Starlight to reject their request to join the fight and question Marie's control.
That dismissal jarred because Gen V had spent two seasons escalating Marie's blood powers; by season 2's end, she was portrayed as powerful enough to resurrect the dead and rival top-tier supes.
Starlight later says she needs their help, but the finale role for the pair remains unclear after Gen V was officially canceled before a third season.
Viewership is part of the problem: estimates put Gen V at less than half of The Boys' audience, complicating efforts to make its characters central to season 5's climax.
Eric Kripke told Entertainment Weekly he fought to keep Gen V alive and suggested its characters could still appear elsewhere, though not in the Vought Rising prequel.
