Cities of Sigmar Battletome, Spearhead Box Hit Retail With 66 Cards

Games Workshop has moved the Cities of Sigmar Order Battletome and Spearhead: Zenestra's Zealots boxed set into retail for Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Two Battletome editions are launching: a standard version and a gamer's edition, a smaller-format book bundled with 66 reference cards.
The new Battletome adds faction-specific lore, warscrolls and rules for Cities of Sigmar, alongside miniature galleries aimed at painting inspiration.
Zenestra's Zealots centers on Pontifex Zenestra and a Freeguild Marshal, with a Relic Envoy, 6 Freeguild Command Corps and 10 Steelhelms in the box.
The retail release follows previews and release plans published a day earlier for a broader Cities of Sigmar wave that also includes new units and larger box sets.
Does this release reveal Games Workshop's new strategy of focusing on massive, high-cost models for all future army updates?
Is the new $210 Cogfort a mandatory purchase, or can Cities of Sigmar armies compete without this expensive centerpiece model?
