Three people were injured after an ambulance crash early Wednesday at Susquehanna and Fitzwatertown roads, prompting authorities to shut Susquehanna Road in both directions.
Around 4:30 a.m., the ambulance collided with another vehicle in Upper Dublin Township while transporting a patient; one person in the other vehicle was trapped and later rescued.
Abington Township police said the road closure at Fitzwatertown Road will last for an extended period as investigators examine the crash scene, and drivers were told to avoid the area.
All three injured people were taken to nearby hospitals, while officials have not yet released the severity of their injuries or further details on what caused the collision.
