$2,499 pre-orders have opened for Canon’s EOS R6 V, a full-frame vlogging camera that records up to 7K 60 fps 12-bit RAW and 7K 30p open gate.
Active cooling is central to the pitch: Canon says the camera can shoot 7K RAW 60 fps with 2K proxies for 120 minutes or more at room temperature, or 52 minutes at 86F on high fan.
The 32.5MP model targets daily video creators with a flip-out 3-inch screen, in-body stabilization, dual card slots, full-size HDMI and creator-focused autofocus including close-up product demos.
Canon trimmed it for video by dropping the electronic viewfinder, though that may hinder bright-sun shooting, while adding pro formats such as Canon Log 2/3, 4K 120 fps and 2K DCI 180 fps.
A new RF20-50mm F4 L power-zoom lens costs $1,399, and the camera will also be sold in a $3,699 kit as Canon pushes deeper into the creator-focused full-frame market.
