May 5 brought the arrest of Dennis Geiggar, 17, on one felony count of open murder in the April 21 death of 61-year-old Marceline Biasini, who was found injured on a Las Vegas sidewalk and later ruled a homicide.
Surveillance audio and video near the scene reportedly captured a suspect approaching Biasini's sleeping area, a scream, and about 61 loud impacts, though the attack itself was obscured from camera view.
Police said Geiggar matched the suspect's description, was linked to a red hoodie and Vans shoes seen on nearby 7-Eleven footage, and had shoes that tested presumptively positive for blood; DNA results were still pending.
Court records cited by local media say Geiggar denied killing Biasini but acknowledged being near the 7-Eleven around 1 to 2 a.m.; authorities also described a history of anger-related incidents and his January expulsion from Valley High School.
The case remains pending, with Geiggar in custody and not convicted; an open murder charge in Nevada alleges homicide without yet specifying the degree of the offense.
