Oli Sykes said he suffered a mild concussion after a fan threw a phone that struck his head during Bring Me the Horizon’s May 11 show in St. Louis.
Video showed the impact early in “Happy Song,” and Sykes later said singing put pressure on the wound and left him feeling disoriented onstage.
He still finished the concert, but the band dropped “YOUtopia” from the set and Sykes skipped his usual trip into the crowd during “Drown.”
Sykes said the swelling has already gone down and that he expects to be fit for the band’s next show in Kansas City.
Bring Me the Horizon has several North American dates remaining this week, ending with a headlining slot at Sonic Temple in Columbus on May 16.
