Damarian M. Jones, 17, was arrested near Atlanta and jailed in Clayton County pending extradition to Iowa over the April 19 Iowa City mall shooting.
Five attempted murder counts and five assault counts stem from allegations that Jones fired six shots into a crowd after a large fight broke out near the University of Iowa campus.
Five people were wounded — including one shot in the head — and Iowa City officials said one victim remained hospitalized as of Monday.
Authorities did not say how marshals located Jones, exactly where he was arrested, whether he resisted, or whether he has a lawyer.
