Bloomberg reported Siri is being completely rebuilt for iOS 27, shifting from a voice assistant into an always-on agent that can use personal information to act across apps.
The redesign adds a chatbot conversation mode: users can swipe down a transparent results card to continue back-and-forth exchanges in a thread-like interface with mini cards for weather, notes and appointments.
Siri is also set to pull answers from the open web, returning more detailed responses and bulleted AI-style search results rather than only app or device-based information.
The overhaul follows nearly 2 years of delays after Apple first promised an AI-upgraded Siri, with execution still the key question as Apple prepares to unveil the changes at WWDC 2026.
