22-year-old bassist Carsen Richards was arrested around 9:40 p.m. Saturday in Owensboro, Kentucky, moments after leaving the stage during Chase Matthew’s set at the BBQ & Barrels event.
Daviess County jail records show Richards was charged with sodomy and incest involving a person under 18 by someone three or more years older, and police said Winchester detectives had flagged him as wanted on felony charges.
Owensboro police said they built an arrest plan after being told Richards might have access to multiple firearms, then detained him before he could reach the tour bus; he was not armed when taken into custody.
An arrest warrant cited by LEX18 said the victim’s mother reported in November 2025 that her autistic son had been abused, and the victim later told police Richards assaulted him in 2020 and 2022, when he was 12 and 14.
Chase Matthew said on Instagram he was "disgusted" by the allegations and that Richards was immediately removed from the band as the case moves through the legal system.
