Files for a playable Subnautica 2 build began circulating online about 48 hours before the game's May 14 early-access launch on Steam and Xbox Series S/X.
DenuvOwO is emerging as the main suspect, with posts on the cracking group's Discord indicating users knew of the leaked build and shared previously unseen images said to come from a pirated copy.
Unknown Worlds has not confirmed how the leak happened, and the report says the build's authenticity could not be fully verified independently.
