More than 1 million posts on Threads complained that users could not block the new Meta AI account, with some reporting errors even when a block option briefly appeared.
Meta rolled out the account Tuesday as part of a test that lets people tag @meta.ai for answers or conversation context, initially in Argentina, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
Meta spokesperson Christine Pai said users can still mute or hide Meta AI replies or mark posts "Not interested," framing the tool as a way to gather context before joining discussions.
