Maximum Wyderski, 19, was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude officers, and nine vehicle citations after a driver rammed a Chicago police cruiser around 12:43 a.m. Wednesday.
Video showed the cruiser being pushed backward as a crowd surrounded the vehicles, with teens jumping on the police car's hood while onlookers cheered and recorded the scene.
A second street takeover was reported Friday night in Chicago's Hegewisch neighborhood, where masked individuals were seen banging on another police cruiser and blocking it from moving; it was unclear whether anyone was arrested.
Alderman Raymond Lopez said everyone involved should be arrested and questioned why only one person had been caught, while Illinois Comptroller Susan Mendoza urged tougher penalties including license revocations, impounded cars and maximum fines.
