A 16-minute Telegram video posted by Mystic Leaks appears to show Aluminium OS, Google's upcoming Android-for-PC software, running on a laptop hours before the company's Android Show.
The demo shows an Android 17-based system with a stock-Android-style setup flow, plus desktop icons, a Google search bar, and a taskbar-and-app-drawer layout reminiscent of ChromeOS.
The settings app in the leaked footage identifies the software as "Android version 17," reinforcing reports that Aluminium OS is Google's PC adaptation of Android rather than a separate platform.
Images of alleged "Googlebooks" laptops also surfaced Tuesday, suggesting Google may pair the new OS with dedicated hardware when it presents at 1 PM ET.

As Google pivots to Aluminium OS, what happens to the millions of ChromeOS devices in schools and businesses?
