Keo Nottage, 29, was jailed without bond in Palm Beach County after prosecutors charged him with attempted first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say the May 10 attack began after Nottage was asked to help carry groceries for Mother’s Day dinner, then escalated when he allegedly said, “Someone is going to die today,” grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his 74-year-old grandmother about 11 times.
Officers responding to the West Palm Beach home found Nottage fighting with his cousin in the driveway; the cousin told police he tried to help the victim before Nottage threatened him with the knife.
The grandmother was taken to a local hospital, underwent surgery and remained in critical condition, making her medical status the immediate focus as the criminal case moves forward.
