Senior IDF sources said Hezbollah’s cable-guided FPV drones are likely to remain a persistent threat in Lebanon operations, with no near-term comprehensive countermeasure.
A pilot program is already being tested with the 91st Division, but the military said defeating drones designed to bypass Israeli jamming and detection will take time.
Golani Brigade said it recently advanced about 10 kilometers to the Litani River, using robots in parts of a three-day operation aimed at Hezbollah mortar cells and tactical tunnels.
The brigade said it killed about 15 Hezbollah fighters in that push, bringing its total in the sector to roughly 70, and destroyed around 1,000 pieces of Hezbollah infrastructure.
Golani has lost three soldiers in the past two months in Lebanon—six including linked air-ground operations—underscoring the cost of a campaign that has expanded since October 2023.
