Bonnie Tyler remains seriously ill but stable in a Faro hospital after emergency intestinal surgery last week, with her doctors still expecting a full recovery, her spokesman said.
The 74-year-old Welsh singer was taken to hospital on Wednesday and placed in an induced coma following the operation.
Support has poured in on Tyler’s Facebook page, where a Friday post thanked fans for an “incredible outpouring” of well wishes from around the world.
Fellow musicians including Gloria Gaynor, Katrina Leskanich and Tyler’s guitarist Ed Poole have also sent public messages of support as the singer recovers.
Tyler is best known for 1983 chart-topper “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” which earlier this year passed 1 billion Spotify streams.
