Tensor G7 is set to power Google's Pixel 12 lineup, according to a new leak that also identifies the chip's internal codename as Lajolla.
No specifications accompanied the leak, but the report says Google is expected to keep the Tensor roadmap in place after Pixel 10's G5 and the anticipated Pixel 11 move to G6.
2 nm manufacturing is seen as a likely carryover for the next chip, while the report suggests Google may again make only limited graphics changes after reusing the same GPU variant in Tensor G6.
Pixel performance remains a pressure point for Google's in-house silicon: the Pixel 10 scored 2,298 in Geekbench 6 versus 3,031 for Samsung's Galaxy S25 and 3,527 for Apple's iPhone 17.
Google has stuck with Tensor since the Pixel 6 in 2021, betting that tighter AI integration and hardware-software control can offset weaker raw performance in its roughly $800 flagship phones.
