$2 billion in year-to-date global ticket sales made Disney the first major studio to cross that mark, helped by 20th Century’s "Devil Wears Prada 2" adding $118.8 million in its second weekend.
"Devil Wears Prada 2" has now grossed $433.2 million worldwide, including $144.8 million domestic and $288.4 million overseas, after holding well with drops of 44% in North America and 46% internationally.

The wider market stayed active: "Michael" reached $577 million globally after a $95 million third weekend, while Warner Bros’ "Mortal Kombat II" opened to $63 million worldwide against expectations for a stronger overseas start.
North American theaters took in $162.1 million for the weekend, up 89% from a year earlier, underscoring a broader early-summer box office rebound beyond Disney’s lead.
