Sega Keeps 4 Classic Reboots on Track as It Cancels 5-Year Super Game Project

Sega said four rebooted franchises—Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Crazy Taxi—remain in development despite shelving its long-running Super Game initiative.
Its Q4 results presentation showed those titles, along with a new Virtua Fighter and an Alien Isolation sequel, are still planned for release in the financial year ending March 2027 or later.
The canceled Super Game, first outlined five years ago, had been pitched as multiple AAA titles spanning Sega technologies and going beyond traditional game frameworks.
Since Sega unveiled the reboot slate at The Game Awards in December 2023, only Shinobi: Art of Vengeance has launched, leaving the rest of the revival strategy still largely unseen.
