Ocasio-Cortez Limits National Interviews to 2, Echoing Biden-Era Press Defense

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has given only two national-media interviews since her widely mocked Munich Security Conference appearance, even as 2028 presidential and Senate speculation around her grows.
Her last national interview was with NPR on Feb. 28; since then she has mostly stuck to two local New York TV appearances, David Axelrod’s University of Chicago event and Ilana Glazer’s podcast.
Chief of staff Mike Casca defended the approach by saying she takes questions daily from credentialed reporters at the Capitol, a line that closely mirrors how Biden aides answered criticism of his limited sit-down access.
That comparison is notable because Biden was repeatedly faulted for relying on shouted questions instead of longer interviews that allow follow-ups; Ocasio-Cortez, meanwhile, still speaks directly to 4 million TikTok and 9.6 million Instagram followers.
