  • May 12 at 10 a.m. starts Pokémon GO’s Spring Marathon, where players can unlock a new Pikachu with a marathon visor through free limited research.
  • 42 km is the event’s only required task, and completing it also awards 21,000 XP; spread evenly, that works out to about 6 km a day.
  • May 18 at 8 p.m. is the deadline to finish the research and catch the Pikachu, with no indication yet of when the costume variant will return.
  • The event also marks the in-game debut of Flattutu, adding another incentive for players joining Pokémon GO’s May 2026 event lineup.
