Three unused jokes from Netflix’s "The Roast of Kevin Hart" targeted Lizzo’s weight, the #MeToo movement and Hart’s Saudi comedy-festival appearance, writer Madison Sinclair told Variety after Sunday’s special aired.
One line said Lizzo "broke barriers" as a stripper in 2019 film "Hustlers"; another joked Hart was shocked by #MeToo because "people are saying no to things?"
Netflix has not explained whether the material was cut for sensitivity or time, and The Independent said it had contacted the streamer for comment.
The special still leaned into Hart’s scandals: Tom Brady appeared to joke about Hart’s 2017 Las Vegas cheating episode, for which Hart later apologized to wife Eniko.
