18-year-old James “Jimmy” Chilimigras graduated Sunday from Loyola University New Orleans’ law school with highest honors, making him one of the youngest known law school graduates.
174 out of 180 on the LSAT helped propel the Mississippi teen into Loyola at 15 after he had already earned a high school diploma at 12 and accounting bachelor’s and master’s degrees by 15.
Top-2% class standing and the highest grade in more than 40% of his courses underscored his performance; Loyola also said he earned five concentration certificates and worked on immigration matters in its law clinic.
Loyola projects him as Louisiana’s youngest law school graduate ever, while outside rankings suggest he could be among the world’s four youngest to earn a law degree.
Northwestern University is next: Chilimigras plans to pursue an LLM in taxation in Chicago and could finish that degree before turning 20.
