UniCredit is structuring two significant risk transfers for CaixaBank and Banco Sabadell, tied to more than €3 billion of corporate loans, according to people familiar with the transactions.
A separate UniCredit deal is nearing completion at its German unit and covers about €3.5 billion of loans to large corporates, extending the bank's securitization push across key European markets.
The transactions highlight continued use of significant risk transfers by major lenders to move credit risk off balance sheets while keeping the underlying client loans in place.
