70-100 gigawatts of global gas turbine orders are expected in 2026, Mitsubishi Heavy said, projecting only a slight pullback from 2025 while keeping demand at historically strong levels.
Data-center buildouts are the main support, with President Eisaku Ito saying inquiries and significant order opportunities for power-generation equipment remain active.
100 gigawatts of orders were booked last year, and Mitsubishi Heavy expects annual demand to hold near 70 gigawatts through 2030.
That outlook suggests utilities and developers will keep turning to gas-fired generation as a relatively fast way to supply surging electricity needs from AI-linked infrastructure.
