Keli Holiday said US officials denied him re-entry from Toronto on Friday, forcing the Australian musician to abandon the remaining dates of his North America tour and return home.
Holiday said he was detained at the border despite having proper visa documentation, and no clear official reason for the ban was disclosed.
Abbie Chatfield posted a 10-minute apology on Tuesday over a July 2025 video criticizing Donald Trump after online speculation linked it to Holiday’s exclusion.
Chatfield said the post had been misread as endorsing political violence, and that Holiday had not even seen the video.
The episode comes months after the US proposed requiring foreign visitors to provide five years of social media history as a condition of entry.
