Starbucks Cuts 61 Seattle HQ Jobs as Tech Reorganization Extends Restructuring

61 Seattle headquarters employees will be permanently laid off after Starbucks filed a WARN notice, with the first cuts set for June 20 and all completed by Aug. 28.
The company said the reductions stem from a reorganization of its technology department at the Starbucks Support Center as CEO-led streamlining continues.
Those affected are nonunion employees, so they cannot bump less-senior workers to avoid the layoffs.
The move adds to a broader Seattle pullback: Starbucks opened a Nashville office plan in March, closed Seattle Reserve sites in 2025 and cut 1,100 corporate jobs globally in October, including more than 900 in Seattle and Kent.
