Version 22.29 is rolling out over the air to Garmin Public Beta users on the Fenix 8, Enduro 3, Quatix 8 and Fenix 8 Pro/MicroLED.
Garmin says the beta fixes a bug that could kick watches off the map page during route recalculation—a long-running problem tied to GPS dropouts, route deviations and failed navigation sessions.
The release also patches crashes when routing back to the start, resets during software updates, inaccurate strength-workout rep counts, map issues in multisport summaries and inconsistent battery estimates between power modes.
Tactix 8 users also get a fix for Night Vision colour shift mode, while broader public release of the reliability-focused update is expected in the coming weeks.
As a promising GPS backup from Starlink shuts down, what is Garmin’s plan to safeguard its watches against increasing global signal disruptions?
With global GPS jamming on the rise, is Garmin's latest software fix a real solution or just a temporary patch on a fragile system?
