More than 20 subpoenas have been authorized in the House Ethics Committee's investigation of Rep. Cory Mills, with dozens of witnesses already contacted and more documents and testimony expected in coming weeks.
The panel said its probe covers alleged campaign finance violations and dating-violence claims, including a February 2025 incident in which a woman showed police bruises before Mills was not charged.
Ethics investigators also cited an October 2025 court injunction that barred Mills from contacting a woman and from coming within 500 feet of her home or workplace.
Mills has denied wrongdoing, said his team has complied with committee requests, and rejected calls to resign or abandon his re-election bid.
The unusually public update comes as the committee has grown more open in misconduct cases and after Rep. Nancy Mace filed an April 20 resolution seeking Mills's expulsion.
