More than 12,000 jobs were added across Mississauga in 2025, with the city reporting a slight year-over-year rise in employment despite broader economic and trade uncertainty in Canada.
The 2025 Employment Survey captured employment data for about 23,700 local businesses—84% of Mississauga firms with a physical location—while showing the number of businesses edged down slightly from 2024.
City officials presented the results to the Planning and Development Committee, saying the annual survey helps track where jobs and industries are growing and guides transit, infrastructure and service planning.
The 2026 survey is now underway, with online participation open and city staff set to visit businesses in person this summer; firms that already respond will not be revisited.
