U.S. Marshals arrested 17-year-old Damarian M. Jones near Atlanta on Monday, weeks after an April 19 shooting near the University of Iowa wounded five people.
Five attempted murder counts headline the charges against Jones, along with assault and weapons counts tied to gunfire that erupted during a large fight in Iowa City's Downtown Pedestrian Mall.
Five victims were struck, with one still in critical condition and two requiring surgery; three of those injured were University of Iowa students, and police said they were not targeted.
