Tucows said it is pursuing a strategic process for Ting Internet, opening the door to a sale, spinoff or other restructuring of the fiber broadband business.
Ting added 2,900 subscribers in the first quarter, lifting its total to 56,800, while revenue rose 19% from a year earlier to $19.4 million.
CEO David Woroch called the Ting review a top priority and said the company is working toward an outcome that creates long-term value for shareholders.
The announcement signals potentially major changes for Ting even as the unit continues to expand its customer base and broadband revenue.
