Paul Curran will become president and publisher of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on June 29, taking over after Andrew Morse’s planned departure.
Cox Enterprises said Curran will steer the AJC’s digital growth and broader transformation, with a focus on product changes, community impact and independent local journalism.
Curran brings nearly 30 years of media leadership, most recently as senior vice president and general manager of Cox Media, the advertising sales arm of Cox Communications.
Morse’s three-year tenure lifted the AJC’s digital subscriber base by 30% and made it the first major metropolitan newspaper to move to a digital-only format.
