Agios Fanourios I stopped in the Gulf of Oman as it was about to leave for the Arabian Sea after exiting the Persian Gulf on Sunday.
Bloomberg ship-tracking data show the very large crude carrier had already crossed the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend.
The tanker is carrying Iraqi crude loaded last month at the Basra Oil Terminal, placing a key export cargo on hold just beyond Hormuz.
