Duncan Baillie, a former 22 SAS commando, said on Brent Tucker's podcast that SAS operators routinely looked for Delta Force counterparts in hostile areas as a trusted fallback if missions went wrong.
Baillie said that confidence came from knowing Delta's training and capabilities, describing a relationship in which the two elite units are "intertwined" and can fight together immediately.
The report frames that bond as longstanding: Delta Force was originally modeled on the SAS, linking the U.S. Army's top counterterrorism unit with Britain's Tier One 22 SAS.
It also points to joint combat history in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, including the deaths of 22 SAS operator Matt Tonroe and Delta Force operator Jonathan Dunbar on the same Syria mission.
