Uber elevated Chief Marketing Officer Jill Hazelbaker to president and chief corporate affairs officer, giving her oversight of human resources, real estate and safety.
Nikki Krishnamurthy, Uber’s current chief people officer, is stepping down, and Hazelbaker will work alongside President and COO Andrew Macdonald in the expanded leadership structure.
Hazelbaker joined Uber in 2015 after roles at Google and Snap, first leading communications during former CEO Travis Kalanick’s resignation.
Under CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, she has driven safety investments, major marketing campaigns and Uber’s positioning for autonomous vehicles, which she said makes this an "important inflection point."
